Aquilla is situated a comfortable 2 hour drive North of Cape Town. You have the option of taking the Aquila transport to Aquila together with other guests. Depending on where you are staying the Aquila vehicle may come and collect you and drop you off. The drive is pretty direct with few stops due to the fact that a number of guest need to be collected and dropped off along the way.

Should you opt for private transport with Cape Splendour your departure would be a little later than the scheduled departure of Aquila and the drive would be a little more leisurely. On the return trip we would take the scenic route back along Du Toits Kloof Pass and have time to stop off at a Wine farm for a bit of a taste and possibly an Olive farm if time permits.

Aquila offers a wide variety of game including, Lion, Giraffe, Rhino, Elephant, Zebra and Blue and Black Wildebeest . A day Safari would include a refreshing drink on arrival, a 2 to 3 hour game drive in a 4×4 with an experienced game ranger, a visit to a San Bushman painting, and an Ostrich farm. You also visit the Animal Rescue and Conservation Centre where there are a variety of animals in recovery from injury or illness as well as some resident Cheetah. Depending on the time of arrival, Breakfast or lunch is included. For the more adventurous and energetic, Horse Back Safaris and Quad bike rides are offered. They have accommodation too if you would like to spend a night or two there.

Should you opt for the private transport offered by Cape Splendour we would charge R2 600 for the return trip for the first three passengers plus the R1 235per person for the Safari. If there are between 4 and 7 passengers the transport cost R3000 and a discounted rate of R1 235per person for the Safari, which makes it cheaper if there are 5 of you!
